We were delighted to welcome Tomoya Ando from Amu.inc. to our newly established production facility for an in-depth look at how Nuplas Solutions is transforming end-of-life fishing nets into low carbon Nylon 6 resources.
During the visit, the team explored our end-to-end operations—from the collection of discarded fishing nets to washing, sorting, shredding, and preparing high-quality Nylon 6 feedstock. We also shared our current production capacity of 15 metric tons per month, achieving 90–95% Nylon 6 purity, which meets the requirements of our recycling partners.
Beyond showcasing our operations, the visit provided an excellent opportunity for both teams to exchange knowledge and insights on end-of-life fishing net recycling, circular economy practices, and the opportunities to scale sustainable solutions across the region.
To provide a complete picture of our circular model, we also visited one of our fishing communities in Penang. This is where the journey begins—where end-of-life fishing nets are collected before entering our recycling supply chain. It was a valuable opportunity to demonstrate that our work is not only about recycling plastics, but also about creating environmental and social impact by working closely with fishing communities. Their participation helps prevent marine pollution while generating additional income from materials that would otherwise be discarded.
We truly enjoyed the meaningful discussions with Tomoya Ando and the opportunity to explore potential areas of collaboration between Nuplas Solutions and Amu.inc. We look forward to strengthening this partnership and working together to advance the circular economy for end-of-life fishing gear.
