NuNet:
Restoring Oceans,
Empowering Fishermen
Making a difference shouldn’t feel impossible.
We make it simple.
NuNet is more than a recycling initiative—it’s a lifeline for fishermen. Partnering with NGOs and nonprofits, we go beyond net collection by offering:
By weaving together the expertise of NGOs, nonprofits, and community services, NuNet is building an ecosystem of support that empowers fishermen—not just for today but for the future.
Saving Marine Life: Fishing nets trap and kill marine creatures long after being discarded. By collecting these nets before they wreak havoc, we directly prevent this waste from polluting our oceans and land, protecting ecosystems and wildlife.
Empowering 100+ fisherman community members with direct incentives for collecting and exchanging discarded fishing nets for an alternative source of income and reducing financial hardships.
Closing the Loop: Instead of letting these nets pollute our waters, NuNet ensures they are repurposed into valuable raw materials like recycled Nylon 6 (PA6), reducing the need for virgin plastics and supporting a circular economy.
Step 1: Fishermen Community Registration
Fishermen who want to participate can register here or through their local Persatuan Nelayan (Fishermen’s Association). This ensures that communities can work together in organized efforts to collect and exchange discarded fishing nets.
Step 2: Exchange Nets for Incentives
Once registered, fishermen can start collecting discarded fishing nets from the ocean, shores, and their fishing gear waste. For every kilogram of nets collected, they receive financial incentives, providing them with extra income to support their families.
Step 3. Processing into High-Quality Recycled Nylon 6
The collected nets are processed and recycled into high-quality Nylon 6 material, a sustainable alternative to virgin plastic. This process reduces the demand for new raw materials and keeps waste out of landfills and oceans.
The entire recycling process is monitored and tracked through our Nu-Cycle app, ensuring transparency in the circular economy journey.
Step 4. Giving Waste a New Life
Recycled Nylon 6 is later transformed into products like jerseys and running shoes. This process proves the circular economy works, showing how waste can be repurposed into valuable, functional products.
Empower the collection of discarded fishing nets and exchange them for incentives and access to social benefits. NuNet is more than a program—it’s a promise. A promise to our oceans, to our fishermen, and to future generations. With every discarded net collected, we take a step closer to a cleaner, more circular world. Together, we can break the cycle of waste and replace it with a cycle of opportunity.
